CAPTCHAs do a great job of keeping bots away, but many times it's at the expense of users. They are often difficult to read, slow to complete, and a frustrating experience.
In this tutorial, we'll show you a user-friendly alternative in Joomla. It does a great job of keeping bots away, while adding no extra steps for users.
The solution we'll use is OSpam-a-not. It's a free plugin that adds hidden checks for bots. Real users won't have to do anything extra and won't see it on the site.
That's all there is to it. OSPam-a-not will protect your front-end forms behind the scenes from bots. And you've just saved your users from filling out those CAPTCHAs. Nice work!
You can find our more about how OSPam-a-not works by reading "How to Use Honeypots to Fight Spam[1]".
Hot off the press we present the September issue of our 2015 theme series, Sun. This theme is heavy on well used typography and will bring your magazine, blog or news website to life. Four additional Widgetkit plugins, as well as a number of little features will help you organize your content with ease.
Sun gives you unprecedented freedom when it comes to displaying articles. Not only does it include its own special blog style. You can also use Widgetkit to render articles in, say a Grid widget, and apply the same styling with Widgetkit. That way you can publish different categories on the same page and any position with the theme's custom design.
Additionally you can assign different colors to tags from within the Warp administration. This allows you to thematically color code your articles.
News are inextricably linked to weather forecasts, which is why a weather feature could not be missed in this theme. Using a shortcode you can choose a location and the unit describing the temperature.
Another Widgetkit addition is the custom Events widget. Add information, like location and time to your content through custom fields and Widgetkit will include them nicely in the rendered layout.
Sun provides two more custom widgets. The List widget allows you to display different types of content, like a Twitter feed, in a list layout and the Tab widget adds a tabbed navigation to a switcher. When displaying tagged articles, the tag color will be applied as a border to the tab. You can explore all specials of the theme on the Features page[1] and see them in action in our theme demo, which of course includes a number of custom pages.

It’s been a while, but after some time of tweaking and bug fixing we are happy to finally present the new version of UIkit! The latest release of our front-end framework comes with a number improvements and minor bug fixes as well as a new video tutorial section.
One of the new additions is the dropdown overlay mode, which allows you to create full width dropdowns. As another much anticipated feature the Slider component now features an autoplay function. This release also includes the newest FontAwesome version 4.4.0 with a number of new icons for you. This is just an excerpt from the long list of changes and additions in this release, as we are slowly but surely steering towards UIkit 3.0. For more information, check out the changelog[1].
To help you get started with UIkit our own Florian Letsch[2] recorded some video tutorials. So far we have added about 10 videos on the most common topics. Check them all on the UIkit website[3]. Of course we will keep adding new tutorials from time to time. However, if you feel that there’s something missing in the videos or if there are any topics you would like to see a tutorial about, let us know. We would love to hear your feedback on our videos and are open for any suggestions. Just join us in the UIkit Gitter chat[4].
